The linking of items in the ARS V6 Inventory system would involve items that are received in a “Case” type packaging that may be broken down into smaller selling units. There are many item categories that the linking of items can be used, the primary being Ammunition.
Example of a Linked item:
1 Case = 10 Boxes
In the example above when a “Case” of Ammunition is received into the ARS V6 system through a Purchase or Invoice the system will recognize this item as a case and turn it into a quantity of 10 boxes. In turn when the “Case” UPC is sold at the register it will take 10 boxes out of inventory, ensuring the quantities of this item are correct.
For Auto Replenishment purposes the items Min/Max levels and AcuSport part number should be set on the larger “Case” item code, the ARS V6 system will recognize when the item needs to be ordered. Do not set the Min/Max levels or AcuSport part number on the smaller “Single” item.
To link an item in the ARS V6 system the “Case” and “Single” units need to have unique UPC or item numbers.
Open up the edit Item window in the IMS Item table and locate the “Case” item. Double click on that item to open up the Edit Item screen, under the Setup tab find the linked item lookup box. Click lookup next to the Linked Item field and locate the smaller “Single” unit. Then in the Link Qty field input the number of “Single” items that are in the “Case”.
This is also the screen where the items Min/Max levels should be inputted
