Set a Min/Max Value
Use the following controls, features, and techniques to set min and max values as desired:
Set a Min/Max Value for a Single Item
- Log in to the IMS application and select Data > Item from the menu bar to display the Item window.
- Click the desired item in the list to select it.
- Click the Modify button to display the Edit Item window.
- Click the Setup tab to display it.
- Modify the values in the Min Qty and Max Qty fields as desired.
- Click the OK button to close the window.
Set a Min/Max Value for Multiple Items
- Log in to the IMS application and select Data > Item from the menu bar to display the Item window.
- If desired, drag the Min Qty and Max Qty columns to a location (e.g., beside the QoH column) where they can be easily viewed. (To save this arrangement, select Edit>Save Grid Preferences from the menu bar.)
- Use the Filter function to display only the items to be modified in the list.
- Right-click the desired column name (Min Qty or Max Qty) to display a menu of options.
- Select Edit from the menu to highlight the column name.
- Enter the desired value(s) in the column cells. (To save the value in a cell, move the cursor to another cell.)
- Right-click the column name and select Edit from the menu to remove the highlight from the column name.
Generate and Apply Suggested Min/Max Values
- Log in to the IMS application and select Data > Item from the menu bar to display the Item window.

Click the Min/Max tab to display it.
Note: This tab is accessible at the store level but is not yet available for corporate systems. The Min/Max tab can be used to calculate suggested minimum and maximum values for items and apply these suggestions as desired. Calculations are based on the most recent 12 weeks of sales data (obtained from the Sales Transaction History) and are weighted by department. (Refer to Department Screen for more information.)
- If desired, drag the Min Qty, Sugg Min, Sugg Min (with buttons), Max Qty, Sugg Max, and Sugg Min (with buttons) columns to a location (e.g., beside the QoH column) where they can be easily viewed. (To save this arrangement, select Edit>Save Grid Preferences from the menu bar.)

Click the Calculate Suggested Min/Max button to calculate values for and populate the Sugg. Min and Sugg. Max columns.
Note: Click the button only when required as the calculation process may utilize a good deal of system resources.

After sugg values have been generated/populated, complete the following as needed:
Note: These buttons are available after suggested min/max values have been calculated and added to the Sugg. Min and Sugg. Max columns.
- Click an item's Use Sugg. Min button to update its Min Qty value to match its Sugg Min value.
- Click an item's Use Sugg. Max button to update its Max Qty value to match its Sugg Max value.
- Click the Replace All Min and Max with Suggested Values button to update all Min Qty and Max Qty values to match their corresponding Sugg Min and Sugg Max values. (If the list is filtered, only displayed items are modified.)
Set Weekly Weights for a Department
- Log in to the IMS application and select Data > Department from the menu bar to display the Department window.

Click the Min/Max Weights tab to display it.
Note: The Min/Max Weights tab has been added to this screen. This tab can be used to set percentage weights for each of 12 weeks used to calculate suggested min/max values. Weights can be assigned as needed. The Weight Totals column displays the total combined value of a department’s 12 week weight values. If these values do not add up to 100%, the Weight Totals field displays red highlighting.
- Click the desired department in the list to select it.

Complete the following procedures as needed:
- Enter weight (%) values in each of the department's week weight columns ( (Wk 1 Weight %, Wk 2 Weight %, ... Wk 12 Weight %) so they total 100 %. (The department's Weight Totals column displays the total of all 12 values. If the values do not add up to 100, the system highlights this column in red.)
- Click a department's Reset to Default button to return all its week weight columns to their default values.
