Accounting module

The Accounting module links accounting information in the AXIS system with a third party accounting program (i.e., QuickBooks).

Note: Some portions of the Accounting module (i.e., the GL Postings screen) can be used even if an accounting program has not been installed and configured for the AXIS system. Refer to Export Accounting Entries to an Excel File for more information.

• The Accounting module works with all currently-supported versions of QuickBooks, but not with the web-based version.
• All computers on which the Accounting module will be used must have AXIS RMS, a supported version of QuickBooks, and the QuickBooks SDK installed.
• Administrator rights are needed to perform the following procedures.
• Refer to the QuickBooks Software Setup Guide for more information.

Accounting Procedures

• Install the QuickBooks SDK File
  Complete this procedure one time (for each computer).
• Configure the Accounting Module
  Complete this procedure one time for a single store.
• Set Up Accounting Links and Features
  Complete this procedure one time to establish a link between components and match AXIS RMS elements to corresponding QuickBook elements. Repeat as needed in the future to add or update matches.
• Post Accounts Payable Invoices to the Accounting Software
  Complete this procedure daily or on an as-needed basis to post accounting data to QuickBooks software.
• Post Accounting Entries to the Accounting Software
  Complete this procedure daily or on an as-needed basis to post accounting data to QuickBooks software.
• Post Inventory Adjustments to the Accounting Software
  Complete this procedure to post one or more inventory adjustment entries to the QuickBooks application.
• Export Accounting Entries to an Excel File
  Complete this procedure to export a daily posting to an Excel file for use with a linked or unlinked accounting program.
